I am participating in the Run for Mercy 5K and Family Walk on Saturday, October 10, 2009. I joined a team along with my friends in honor of our friend Alyse Conk who just recently passed away and was in the application process in attending Mercy Ministries.  Run for Mercy is an annual event designed to raise funds and awareness for the Mercy Ministries homes. Mercy Ministries offers a free of charge residential program that helps young women between the ages of 13-28 who face life-controlling issues such as eating disorders, self-harm, drug and alcohol addictions, physical and sexual abuse, depression, and unplanned pregnancy. The Mercy Ministries program is voluntary, Christ-centered, completely free of charge, and lasts approximately six months. Because we are a Christian non-profit organization, our support must come from private sources such as individuals and businesses.
