Running for Mercy in Colorado Springs 2009
|
Dear Friends, I am participating in my 7th Run for Mercy Half-Marathon on April 11, 2010. Run for Mercy is an annual event designed to raise money for Mercy Ministries, a non-profit organization designed to meet the needs of young women who face life-controlling problems such as eating disorders, addictions, self-harm and depression. The program is completely free of charge.
I have witnessed first-hand the transformation that takes place in the lives of girls who graduate from Mercy. My daughter, Amber, was applying to Mercy when she died of an accidental drug overdose. I believe if she would have made it to Mercy she would be alive today, and I am determined to take what the enemy meant for harm and use it to bring restoration to hurting girls like Amber.
Please help support me in reaching my goal of $1,000 for the St. Louis home. It costs an average of $5,000 a month to help a girl at Mercy, which is a fraction of the cost of secular treatment programs. Running 13.1 miles is a challenge, but it is nothing compared to overcoming the challenges a Mercy girl faces in order to gain her freedom.
Any gift you make will help a young woman discover the purpose for her life and restore her hope. Thank you for your support. Together we will set the captives free!
